About Jo McChesney
Jo McChesney specialised in print after graduating from Bath Academy of Art in 1985. She travelled to Japan to study Japanese woodblock printmaking, and combines her knowledge of traditional Japanese printing techniques with a distinctly western approach to image making. Seasonal change in the natural world is the source of her inspiration. Her latest work reflects the transformation of the rural landscape local to her, the flat Midlands, emphasising the plough lines and change of colours in the surrounding fields. She incorporates collage using mixed media and paper pulp to evoke the wide open spaces, against the chalky colours of patched up silent farm buildings.
